Welcome!
My name is Seth Ambrose, and I help people heal in relationship — with themselves, their bodies, and the people they love. If you're feeling disconnected from yourself, struggling in your relationships, or discovering a new direction you want to take in your life, you are not alone — and I'm here to help.
My work is psychodynamic, relational, and somatic. Together, we can explore attachment wounds, and work toward greater security and satisfaction in relationships. We can use somatic therapy approaches to discover and nurture the wisdom that is present in the body. I encourage individuals to grow in their self-confidence, and I help couples learn to successfully navigate conflict. We can explore patterns that are no longer serving, and unwind tension that limits the experience of joy.
I especially enjoy helping couples explore conscious non monogamy, and working with the unique experiences of gay men and other LGBTQ+ folks. I strongly believe in including the body in therapy - working with breath, gesture, movement, and touch can serve as part of a dynamic somatic process. I am often told I am an active therapist - I strive to listen and understand, and I'm also here to challenge, celebrate, laugh, and cry together as we engage with deep and meaningful themes.
I provide in-person psychotherapy services for adult individuals and couples in San Francisco. I also provide telehealth services throughout California. I am available for consultation, and I offer supervisory services for therapist trainees and associate therapists.

Let the waters settle and you will see the moon and the stars mirrored in your own being.
